Fall fun!

Aquarium with Jessica, Addy, Macie, and little Sam

Addy was scared to pet the sting ray

But she finally got brave and did it! She screamed so loud when she touched it!

It's Nemo

This lobster is so big and so gross
Lo and I made this ice cream cake for Nic and Laura's birthday- It was delish!

Flash on (look at that caramel dripping!) Flash off... Looks good

FRIGHTMARES at Lagoon!

I love this picture!

Alex was outside drawing with sidewalk chalk, he ran in the house and said "Mom, mom come look I drew a picture of you".

I love my picture! The big circle is my belly button, and I like the flip flops I'm wearing!

Then I drew a picture of him and wrote "I love my mom" and he scribbled it out! Then I drew hearts all over the sidewalk, he went back and drew a circle around them, and a line through them!! He's so anti love! And he finished by writing his name on the wall!

Alex was Kung Fu fighting!!

My baby tested for his yellow belt today! I am very proud of him and he can't wait to get his actual belt!! I love how much he enjoys doing Kung fu, he's so much fun to watch especially when he is SO dramatic (I seriously have NO idea where he gets it from!), but at least he is entertaining!
This makes me want to get my black belt in Kung Fu.. I bet I could beat all those little kids!!

Fall is my new favorite..

I use to be mad at Fall... because Winter followed soon after, but lately I've had an obsession with it. I LOVE Fall colors, I LOVE Halloween, I LOVE the mild weather, I LOVE all the new Fall fashions (thigh high boots! Oh I am so getting me some!), I LOVE fall food (pumpkins! I am obsessed with pumpkins too, but that's not a healthy obsession...), I just LOVE it all!!Today we went up to temple quarry to catch a glimpse of the changing colors.. It was so beautiful! Alex and I are a little overly excited for Halloween... We had so much fun making this haunted house, I found a recipe to make one that's actually edible... I'm sure we'll try it out soon! We also made these pumpkin (yes pumpkin!! I LOVE IT!) spider web cookies.. I didn't like the recipe, but dang they looked cute!

Pizza

Alex and I decided to make homemade pizza. I made the dough last night, and today we were going to try and toss it in the air (like a real pizza maker!). We didn't end up tossing it in the air (we wanted to eat pizza that hadn't fallen on the floor). Alex was SO excited all day! He could not wait until dinner time!!

Putting the cheese on. Cheese is just the best thing ever, isn't it??
Alex kept eating all the pepperonis... I'm surprised any made it onto the pizza..

I can't seem to get my pizzas in a circle shape.. So I told Alex we were making a square one since they were talking about squares in school the other day. Then he said "But mom, today we talked about circles"
He still got a square pizza.
Although it may be closer to a rectangle..
Obviously I can't make any shape out of dough..

Oh ya! All ready to go in the oven! Can you tell which side is mine?
Oh wait.. It needed more cheese! Now it's ready!
He loved it and he was so proud that he helped make it
Yes we have to dine with Star Wars men...

Future rockstar

I love when little kids sing. It's so cute and funny! Alex never liked to sing (he was probably sick of hearing me sing 24/7), but lately he walks around the house while singing "I can't take it any longer, thought that we were stronger, all we do is linger, slipping through my fingers" (it's a song by "The Pussy Cat Dolls"). It cracks me up every time I hear him!! Oh the sticker on his head is from school.. He kept it on all day and had a circle on his forehead when I finally made him take it off before bed!!

Motorcycle

Uncle Nic got a fun new toy... I know I am crazy for letting my 5 year old ride a motorcycle, but I trust my brother, he had a helmet on, and they only drove in the neighborhood. I went for a ride first.. Now I kind of want one. Who needs a bicycle when you can have a motorcycle! (I am talking on the phone to Kayla while recording so if you hear me saying "ya, um", it's not me chatting with myself! You can also hear Kayla asking if he's scared, I answered no, but I'm pretty sure he was!)

First day of school

Alex's first day of kindergarten!!! I still can't believe that my baby is in school... I know he was in preschool for 2 years, but this just feels different.. We had a very eventful day. When I came to pick Alex up the office informed me that he was not up to date on his immunizations. I called the Dr and was able to get in with a nurse that afternoon, but Alex knew we were going for shots.. I lost the element of surprise!! It was such a battle!!

When we got the office, he was trying to hide from me. When the nurse called his name he had gone into the bathroom, locked the door, and wasn't coming out.. it was only for a moment, but it was embarrassing! When the Dr came in he immediately said "I don't want any shots!" and tried to hide under the chairs. Finally the moment came.. He would not hold still, another nurse had to come in and help hold him down, he was yelling "Mama help me! Help me mama!". He was trying to traumatize me... and it worked!! 3 shots (and numerous humiliating moments) later we left the office, out the back door!! I am so glad he doesn't have to get another shot until Jr. high.. I just hope he's not as scared because if he acts like that when he's 12 I'm going to put him up for adoption!
