Happy Birthday Grandma

Grandma Zupan turned 90 in April!! We had a small family get together (I don't think she knew what was going on, but it was good to see her!).

Confessions of a sugar binger!

I'm not the type of person to blame my problems on other people or make excuses for my behavior.. But after binging on cookies, Easter candy (I'm scared to list all the Easter candy I ate, I grouped it together to make myself feel a little better), strawberries (I had to throw something healthy in), fruit roll ups, chocolate chips, frosting (for my cookies.. A little managed to find its way onto them!), fruit snacks, & sugar coated cereal... I realized
It's not my fault!

Any sweets caught roaming in the house were killed, literally, KILLED. Yes they were subjected to a long & painful death. Oh but that wasn't enough, then I had to go & create my own sweets!! But
it's really not
my fault...
I think I'm about to slip into a sugar induced coma.. I
need to go running before the sun sets & all this sugar is permanently plastered to my bottom... Stress & hormones are a deadly combination... Next time I think someone should lock me in the closet with some Celery!!!!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter!!

We all got to hold Kaili!
She's getting SO big, & more adorable every time
I see her!

We had the perfect Easter Sunday. Great weather, awesome food, & our family & friends over!

Lo & I LOVE making desserts!!!

Lo made all the kids ice cream cones

Alex & KailiAlex & Cait after the hunt!
Coloring Easter eggs! Alex decided that the Easter bunny isn't real "It's just people"! I didn't want to try & convince him otherwise.. He already thought through it logically before reaching that conclusion.
I just hope he doesn't decide
Santa isn't real! I'm not ready for that!

My (AWESOME) 3-day date!

Is 3 days too long for a first date??? Personally I didn't think it was long enough! Alma & I have been planning this since the beginning of February!!!!

I didn't
think we'd have time to do EVERYTHING we said we were going to do! But we somehow did!!

Friday we made banana bread, watched Brian Regan & Jim Gaffifan, ordered pizza, Alma entertained me with some violin solos (http://vimeo.com/2778420), painted our bowls at Color Me Mine, ate at P.F Chang's, Alma showed me how to make balloon animals, & we watched "About A Boy". Saturday we made omelets & waffles, then we went to the mall to get Alma a tie that matched my dress, drove to Bridal veil falls, stopped by Krispy Kreme, Lo & got ready for the Ball, Alma & I ate at Cucina Toscana (YUM!), we joined a bunch of high school kids for a few dances, & watched Zoolander afterward. Sunday we were able to attend the morning session conference (but not before we enjoyed a breakfast of Hemp cereal & hemp milk!), we had lunch with my family, & enjoyed the rest of conference (I only fell asleep once)! It was definitely the BEST DATE EVER!!!

I can't believe it!

I got my cap & gown today!! It still doesn't feel like I'm really going to graduate!!

Pizzaz

Monday night was Lauryn's last dance concert Pizzaz. She asked Alexander to escort her. He was so nervous, but so cute!! It's weird to think that we have been attending her dances for the last 5 years (yes, ever since Alex was born!). Now she's a senior & this was her last one! I almost started crying when she walked out!! I can't believe my baby sister is going to graduate from high school... Does that make me old!! Oh & Alex & Lo looked SO CUTE!!

Spring internship

This semester I've been fortunate enough to participate in an internship with Wasatch Community Gardens. For those of you who aren't familiar with this organization (I wasn't until this semester!), they are a non-profit community garden (http://www.wasatchgardens.org/). They own plots throughout Salt Lake City & they lease them out for those who want land to garden on. It's a fabulous program, but they have a huge waiting list, & there isn't enough plots to go around (this is where I come in!). Right now I'm working on starting a yard sharing program in Salt Lake City. This would be a program that brings people together through gardening (those who'd like to share their yard, & those who'd like a yard to use!). I feel so lucky to be a part of this project!! I was able to conduct a survey (something I have always wanted to do!), & it was so awesome to see the results!!! Our next step is to start a pilot program for this upcoming growing season. Then I get to work on implementing the program throughout Salt Lake. Oh & I also get to volunteer at the annual plant sale, and the tomato sandwich party! I am having so much fun & I am so excited to see the end results of all my hard work!
